Silversea's World Cruise shatters the cruise line's booking records

Want to take a 139-day cruise aboard the Silver Shadow luxury ship in January 2023?

The arts-inspired World Cruise 2023 will leave from Sydney on 10th January to New Zealand before cruising out towards the Pacific, Asia, Africa, South America and the Caribbean…to finally berth by the docks at Fort Lauderdale in the US, on 28th May.

In all, the 28,258 ton ship, which was launched 21 years ago and last refurbished in 2019, will take a full complement of 388 passengers and crew totaling 302, to 66 destinations, visiting 34 countries spanning the 5 continents.

Themed around art, the cruise's stops will explore the music, art, theatre, and dance traditions of the local cultures. The luxury vessel will sail up the Amazon River when it arrives in Brazil. The itinerary will present an extraordinary mix of destinations, from the remote wonders of Papua New Guinea, the Seychelles Mauritius, Réunion Island, and Cape Verde to iconic regions and cities. It will also visit Sri Lanka en route - where the cultural footprint of past eras -- Dutch, Portuguese and British -- awaits discovery, along with a bevy of UNESCO-listed World Heritage Sites.

Still want to get on board?

The near 20-week trip will need you to dig deep into your pockets. Fares start at US$ 74,000 going up to $ 278,000 per guest based on double/twin occupancy. The price includes travel in Quantas Airlines flights on business class and private transfers – where passengers will be picked up from their homes to the airport and to the ship to board.

Still wanna go?

Sorry people… You have to wait for the next World Cruise. Because the 2023, entitled “South Side Story – All the World’s a stage”, sold out within a few hours of launch…creating a new bookings record for the cruise line – Silversea Cruises. As a matter of fact, Both Regent Seven Seas 143-night World Cruise and Oceania’s “Around the World in 180 Day” cruise, both scheduled to sail in 2023 have also been ‘sell outs’. Obviously, cruise enthusiastic, including the ‘well heeled’ simply can’t wait to get back to sea.

Bucking the trend where most cruise operators have halted their foray into cruises for now due to COVID-19, Silversea has continued with its  fleet expansion plans and its newest ship, the Silver Dawn, with a capacity to carry 596 guests apart from the crew, will be launched in January next year.
