Sri Lankan Santiago to head R Hotels 3 Ajman properties
R-Hotels have appointed Ravi Santiago as the new cluster general manager to head three Ajman properties. In his new role, Santiago who has been with R Hotels for over ten years will overlook the Ramada Hotels & Suites by Wyndham Ajman, Ramada by Wyndham Beach Hotel Ajman and Wyndham Garden Ajman Corniche.
Having his roots in finance, previously acting as general manager finance for Aitken Spence Hospitality, Santiago moved to Wyndham Hotels in 2009.as cluster financial controller. Whilst in Ajman, he moved to Radisson Blu as financial controller in 2017 before joining R Hotels as group financial controller for R Hotels seven properties in the UAE.
He brings in over 25 years of expertise spanning various industries with 15 years in the hospitality sector, having received his MBA from the University of Northampton, UK and also a PGD in Business Administration from the University of Wales. He is also a CIMA UK qualified accountant.
Commenting on his appointment, Santiago said: “It’s been a great journey with R Hotels over the past 10 years and I am thankful to the top management for handing the baton over to me with confidence. R Hotels continually explores internal talent, which has been one of the keys for the consistent success of the group”. Going on to add;” whilst been excited with my new role, there are evident challenges that we have to address amid the current environment. This is a critical phase where we need to strategically align ourselves to face the new normal. My team’s objective is to retain our position as one of the top-performing hotel clusters in the Northern Emirates”.
Sumair Tariq MD of R hotels whilst congratulating Ravi Santiago on his new role as cluster general manager, mentioned that Ravi has been a key member of R Hotels and that he played a significant part in the group’s success over the years. He was there confident that their Ajman properties will continue to thrive and create more innovative campaigns in the future.
