Seven of the ten tallest hotels in the world are in DubaiThe UAE is already in the limelight for its glass skyscrapers, but what is less known is that Dubai is home to seven of the current ten tallest hotels in the world, of which the top five are in the kingdom.
According to the Guinness World Records it is the world’s tallest hotel building in the world. Featuring 528 rooms spread over 75 floors. The Hotel boasts the highest restaurant in the Middle East, which is set 280 meters above the ground and offers 360-degree views of the Dubai skyline.
Until the Gevora Hotel opened in February 2018, the JW Marriot Marquis Hotel with 72 floors was the tallest hotel in the world. Spread across two iconic towers, the hotel features 1,608 guest rooms as well as one of the largest spas in Dubai, which has a pool filled with water from the Dead Sea.
This 4 star property that operates on an alcohol - free policy has 500 rooms spread across 72 floors. The tower is a looming example of postmodernism, with its distinct tapered roof and spire that allows it to jut out of the skyline.
With its 60 floors, this sail-shaped iconic luxury property is still the tallest all suite hotel in the world. The hotel has 199 suites, each allocated eight dedicated staff members.This five-star hotel (referred to as 7-star – which rating does not exist), has many record breaking titles such as the most expensive cocktail at Dh27,321 ($7,439) and the largest Swarovski crystal chandelier, with its 21,000 crystals, worth Dh1.3 million.
The hotel is one of two towers, the second being a 350-metre office tower, with the two towers connected by a central podium called The Boulevard. With 52 floors, Jumeirah Emirates Towers is home to 400 rooms and suites, including a two-level Royal Suite. It is also one of the first hotels in the UAE to launch a dedicated ladies floor, on the 40th level.
6. Baiyoke Tower II, Bangkok: 309 metres
The 88-storey hotel features 673 guest rooms and is famous for its rooftop bar on the 83rd floor as well as its 360-degree revolving roof deck, on the 84th floor. The observation deck on the 77th floor offers visitors expansive views of Bang kok city.
Opened in 2014, spanning 68 floors, this tower is one of six, meant to be the landmark cenre-piece of the new central business district (CBD) in the Chinese city.
This 77 – story twin-tower property houses a 5-star hotel with 217 keys, 443 serviced apartments and 478 residential apartments. With its own private beach, the hotel already has two Guinness World Records to its name — the highest outdoor infinity pool in a building in the world and highest occupiable sky bridge floor in the world.
Previously known as the Millennium Plaza Hotel, this 65-story tower houses 415 rooms offering panoramic views of the Dubai skyline and the Jumeira beach.
Situated on its own private island, this five-star 48 – storied property offers 273 guest rooms and a penthouse-level Skypod restaurant, offering great views of the Arabian Gulf.
The next world’s tallest hotel is opening in Dubai in 2024. The Ciel hotel will reach the 365 metres (1,181 feet) height, with 82 floors. When completed, Ciel will house over 1,000 guestrooms and suites.
